Two senator Bail Organa of Alderaan and Senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila secretly plan to stop Palpatine from defrauding his way into senatorial Presidency. At a meeting in Organa home in Imperial City, Cantham House, Mothma called for a general revolution against Palpatine and his growing forces. Organa devoted his life to the old republic to make senatorial system and believed that anarchy to stop Palpatine could not be contained.

A small planet in stern sector near the Core World became the first feel the military wrath of Palpatine. The Massacre at Ghorman resulted when the Ghormanese planetary governor refused to bow to Palpatine. They are defying an Imperial increase in taxation, staged a peaceful protest at the planet’s primary spaceport and blocked the landing pads used by Palpatine naval vessels. The result dozen were killed and hundreds more injured when a warship, commanded by Captain (later Grand Moff) Tarkin, intentionally landed atop the protesters to collect the new taxes. This is the sign of the death of the Old republic and many planetary systems realized the democratic were utterly gone.Therefore, Bail Organa began helping Mothma to divert both funds and weaponry into hand of the brave soul who formed what quickly coalesced into pockets of organized resistance.
